Invitation to Public Meetings

Invitation to Public Meeting

During the month of October 2019, PG&E implemented two Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) events intended to prevent fires caused by their facilities during high wind events.  PG&E has since reiterated their intent to implement PSPS events during threats of high wind forecasts in the future.  The two October 2019 PG&E outages each spanned five days causing concern for increased risks from: (a) lack of water for fire suppression; (b) lack of water for sanitary and personal use; and (c) lack of water for drinking.

The Solano Irrigation District Staff is holding a Stakeholder Meetings to discuss the need for back-up power generation in various water systems.  These meetings will:

  • First; give you an overview of your water system,
  • Second; discuss the needs and desires of the customers of your water system to fund back-up power generation which will help keep the water system operational during PG&E’s PSPS events and,
  • Invite you to be part of a stakeholder group for your water system.

Please join us at the meeting.

Thank you,

Cary Keaten, General Manager of SID
