As part of its mission to ensure the safe, affordable and reliable delivery of water to its customers, the District’s Board of Directors annually approves planning for capital improvements including the Rehabilitation and Betterment Plan for the planning of capital projects and maintenance. The 2009 Rehabilitation and Betterment Plan, approved in February, is part of the District’s efforts to increase its efficiencies, stabilize rates, and plan for capital improvements to the system.
In the capital planning process the District is also proposing to relocate its Headquarters and Corporation Yard to a new location in Vacaville. Two Open House Meetings are scheduled on August 12 & 13 in Dixon and Fairfield to inform the public about the proposed relocation. For more information about the meetings, go to How to Participate.
Other capital improvement projects include extensive canal concrete lining, pipeline replacement and rehabilitation, filter, meter, and well replacement. The full list of the canal lining and pipeline replacement projects is contained in the Rehabilitation and Betterment Plan (pdf).
